Trace Allen was a much loved member of Tri-Force Triathlon club and served the club as the membership secretary. He was responsible for introducing almost every member into the club and was a hugely popular figure.
Trace was also a member of Garden City Runners and if you competed in races in Hertfordshire then it was highly likely that you raced him at some stage. Trace also competed on the international stage representing Team GB’s age-group triathlon team and competed in multiple European Championships and at the World Championships in Hamburg.
Trace was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 and became an inspirational figure at Pancreatic Cancer UK whilst serving as their Chair of Trustees and undertaking numerous fundraising activities for the charity.
Trace passed away in 2017 and Tri-Force have since decided to organise the HSV triathlon in his memory.
‘Race for Trace’ became a popular slogan for his friends and family and we hope you will continue that slogan with us at the HSV Triathlon.
